Tequila in the winter

i bought some tequila on the way back from Spain and now i have to drink it. Shots are nice but a good mixed drink is just happiness.

we made a jug of it. about a L worth drink, but it was not that strong.

I started by
  • layering a lot of ice at the bottom of the Jug.
  • add 1/2 cup of frozen red currants
  • pouring 6 shots of tequila
  • 1 tbs of lime-hydelberry syrup
  • 2 tsp of cranberry syrup
  • finally fill the rest of with sparkling water
God it was good. Enjoy

Cold drinks for cold nights.

So for those cold nights, i love having a nice cold drink. Now, if you dont have ice then leave your lemonade and rum in freezer for at least half an hour.

Now you will need:
  • a lime
  • mint leaves
  • sparkling lemonade
  • white rum
  • ice...if you got it
  1. start by slicing lime into segments.
  2. add 1/2 lime to bottom of cup. mash
  3. add 10ish leaves of mint. mash.
  4. add 50 ml of rum. add ice. stir.
  5. top with lemonade.
  6. Stir and garnish with fresh mint.
Now enjoy with something hot or cold.

Oh and i just found out the average shot size varies throughout the world. I never realized that until i just looked it up. Check wiki site on it.

Cherry Milkshake for those Cool Nights.

I have just come back from my Christmas, and i WILL post about it...because well it was AMAZING, with So much food.

My family went to Australia for the break and even though it is over, i was really craving a milkshake. They are the easiest and tastiest things. I have also been having a yogurt base, so its has a sharper taste but i feel much fresher.

It depends on who you are, but my amounts were
  • 1/3 thick turkish yogurt
  • 1 /3 vanilla ice cream
  • 1/3 cherry juice
It depends on who you are though, as you could add more ice cream to have it thicker, or juice to hvae it more sugary and thiner.

Now add it to a blender, or use a hand blend it and enjoy the tasty milkshake.

hot chocolate for a cold autumn day

Its been pretty windy, chilly and wet so to make it better hot chocolate has well, taken a new spot in the things i drink. The recipes are all pretty much the same but having them with a side of dutch waffles, caramel covered waffle sandwiches.

This hot chocolate i made by adding the following to a pot at med temp.
  • large amount of milk
  • half a bar of dark chocolate chopped up
  • over a tbs of cocoa powder
  • around a tbs of sugar
I kept it smooth by stirring constantly and also using a blender to whisk it up a bit and give a little foam.

Enjoy with board games, dutch waffles and some good music.

vanilla orange juice

the other day i had way too many oranges. and instead of eating them all raw i decided to make a 'juice'/drink out of them. I decided the nicest compliment would be vanilla, and well it was quite pleasant.

To make the juice was pretty simple i:
  • filled a pot with water and turned to med-high heat
  • added 2 tb of sugar
  • added 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • added 2 cut up oranges. Rind off...
  • let it all get to boil
  • turned down to simmer for 10+?? min
  • finally i strained it and let it cool in the fridge
it was pretty tasty and i had it this time with some stuffed pitas and some pita chips with cinnamon and sugar.

Enjoy

Mango Passionfruit Juice

Hey guys,
I dont know who knows this but I am a feen for passionfruits and mangoes. By far my favourite fruits. So when i found out the metro sells cheaper fruit, and i realized that passion fruit and mangos were a part of this, i bought some of this less pristine fruit and created my favourite juice.

Once i got home i put a decently sized pot of water at med heat. I proceeded to add some sugar, though this is personal preference and some lemon juice.

For the fruit i sliced up the mango, getting as much of the flesh out, and put that into the pot. I than sliced teh passion fruits in half and took out the seeds and tastyness held within the center and i proceeded to put that into the pot.

I brought this to a boil than simmered for 20ish min. THere was a foam that appeared on the top so i just scooped that away.

Once cooked I mashed up slight and drank just like that, however you can also use a sive to make it a cleaner and smoother juice.

enjoy
