Roasted Roots
Seriously one of the easiest and most delectable side dish that I make. Though they take around 40 minutes to make, the prep work can be done in less than 5. The great part about this is the wide variety of root vegetables that can be used. I have used turnips, Parsnip, sweet potatoes, potatoes beets, and so forth. Depending on what you are feeling like the root vegetable will change.
For the meat and potatoes type, just go with regular potatoes, if you like sweet potatoes than choose them. If you like a hint of cinnamon than either add some cinnamon or use parsnips.
The recipe is really basic, and goes as follows.
• Cube root vegetables
• Add garlic (1 clove should be enough)
• olive oil (make sure all veggies are covered)
• sea salt and some pepper to taste (a good pinch of both or either)
If you want add some other ingredients I would suggest
• Cinnamon (I know sounds weird but try on sweet potatoes)
• Cajun Spices
• Cayenne pepper (spicy, but great on sweet potatoes)
Mix ingredients and put in oven at 420 F for 40ish minutes, or till you want to eat them
